I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
My practice is grounded in mindfulness and compassion-based psychotherapy. I draw on evidence-based approaches including EMDR, trauma-focused interventions, and cognitive-behavioral strategies, tailoring treatment to your unique needs.
I primarily work with individual adults, though I also provide support and consultation for family members who are impacted by a loved one’s struggles.
Our first session is a chance to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to gain. Together, we’ll create a plan that feels comfortable and supportive for you.
I offer both in-person sessions and secure online therapy sessions. Currently, in-person sessions are offered on Mondays and Thursdays in Hillsborough.
Individual weekly sessions are typically 55 minutes. Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, but we’ll decide together what frequency best fits your needs and goals.
I accept Aetna and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield NJ plans and also offer private pay options. If I am not in-network with your plan, I can provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement. I’ll be glad to help you understand your options.
Life happens! I just ask for 24 hours’ notice in order for you to avoid the late cancellation fee of $100.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking for support in making changes, therapy can be a powerful resource. Many clients find that having a safe space to talk and reflect helps them discover new clarity and direction.
You can reach out by phone 908-872-7623 or email lstewartlcsw@gmail.com. I’ll respond promptly to set up a time that works for you.
You don’t need to bring anything but yourself. Some people like to jot down their goals or concerns beforehand, but it’s not required. Just come as you are.
The length of therapy is different for everyone. Some people come for a few months to address a specific concern, while others find ongoing support helpful. We’ll check in along the way to make sure you’re getting what you need.
Yes. What you share in therapy is private and confidential. The only exceptions are situations where safety is a concern, such as risk of harm to yourself or others, which I am legally and ethically required to address.
If you are ever in crisis, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also call or text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988. For ongoing support, we can talk together in session about creating a crisis plan that feels safe for you.
